Please follow the Eventbrite website link

This is part of Bristol Baptist College’s PFS Course. For information about this please follow the link below.

What are the relative merits of new songs and old hymns? How might the structure of a worship service lead people into deeper engagement with God? How can we be creative yet faithful; innovative but not faddy?

Whether you feel the need to improve your skills in preparing and leading gathered worship, or you are interested in learning more about what worship is and how you might enable people to encounter God more effectively, this module will be a help to you. The days will be interactive and will cover the history, styles and dynamics of worship, the use of song, scripture and communion and newer forms of worship.

The module is split into two teaching Saturdays; each day has 4 sessions and plenty of tea and coffee breaks. We provide teas, coffees and biscuits and recommend that all attendees bring a packed lunch. There is a small car park in front of the building but no parking restrictions are imposed on the surrounding streets on Saturdays.

Day 1, 21st September 2019: Ways of Leading in a More Contemporary Setting. Speaker: Phil Trainer, Cirencester Baptist Church

Day 2, 19th October 2019: Creative Ways in a Traditional Church Environment. Speaker: Revd Sam King, Calne Baptist Church Wiltshire
